Uber plans to move deeper into the premium and corporate segments with an agreement to acquire chauffeured transportation platform Blacklane, the company announced Monday.
Financial details of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Blacklane was founded in 2011 and operates in more than 500 cities across more than 60 countries, according to the company.
"Executive travel is a fast-growing segment of Uber's business, driven by strong demand for planned, high-quality transport services," according to Uber. "Pre-booked Uber Reserve trips in particular have become one of the fastest growing parts of Uber's mobility business."
The deal comes about two weeks after Uber announced the introduction of its "Uber Elite" service, focused on luxury rides. Blacklane's most recent update, also announced two weeks ago, was a partnership with security-identity company Clear.
Uber expects the Blacklane acquisition to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
