Hotel room wholesaler WebBeds will use Troovo Technologies' virtual payment card generation tools to make payments to hotel suppliers, the companies announced. Under the partnership, WebBeds will use Troovo's robotic process automation-driven platform to route and process payments for rooms, which the company subsequently resells to such parties as travel agents, OTAs, airlines and tour operators.
Itself a subsidiary of Australia-based travel seller Webjet, WebBeds owns a portfolio of hotel room wholesale brands, including Lots of Hotels, Sunhotels, Fit Ruums and JacTravel. The company says it is the second-largest accommodation wholesaler in the world, with supplier connections to more than 250,000 properties in more than 10,000 destinations.
Also based in Australia, Troovo in recent months has racked up several partnerships for its automated virtual travel payment generation service. In January, the company integrated its issuing and processing services into Mastercard's In Control for Business Travel platform, which delivers virtual cards for use in corporate travel bookings made via travel management companies and online booking tools. That deal followed Troovo's October pacts with Flight Centre Travel Group and mobile travel technology specialist MTrip.
