The corporate travel booking sector has been transformed by fragmented content, generative AI and intensifying competition. Booking tools now span technology providers, TMC-built platforms, OTA offerings and end-to-end corporate travel and expense management platforms; plus, some established names face uncertain futures. BTN's guide examines the offerings of 14 leading and emerging platforms. The survey shows how providers are adapting and, maybe more importantly, how travel managers will need to adapt their procurement scope and strategies to understand the implications AI brings to personalization opportunities and awesome tech integrations, but also to data security, auditability and accountability.

Business Travel Booking Tech: What's Now & What's NextThurs., Oct. 29 at 10am PT / 1pm ETRegister Now!
Business travel booking technology is changing. Artificial intelligence has transformed how both travelers and travel program administrators can interface with booking and the data sytems behind them at their most fundamental levels.

Plus, "headless" and agentic capabilities may eventually disassociate users from stand-alone booking and data tools overall.
  • Will the form factor change what needs to happen underneath the surface of the tech?
  • Who answers for the user experience once booking comes into the enterprise environment?
  • How will AI capabilities change sourcing and procurement imperatives?
Explore these questions and more with BTN's expert panel.

Methodology

Business Travel News in September and October 2026 surveyed three panels of constituents about their experiences across 14 established business travel booking tools to create profiles for each tool. First, BTN surveyed the booking tool provider itself to aggregate consistent information and unique value propositions for each tool. Editors then engaged a panel of consultants and a panel of travel buyers to provide informed views of each profiled platform and to stress test supplier claims. Buyers who provided content were required to be active users or to have evaluated a given platform in the last 12 months in an RFP. Individual consultants, buyers and comments have not been attributed. Most assessments have been aggregated. BTN editors selected tools that frequently appear in formal RFPs processes, according to buyers and consultants. BTN would like to thank Acquis, Festive Road, Goldspring and Sage for contributing candid platform evaluations. We would also like to thank the many buyers who contributed their insights to this project.
