Israel-based Talma Travel Solutions already was on a path to rapid international expansion when CEO Iya Magen upped the ante this year by taking a majority stake in U.S.-based Solutions Travel.
The deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, was executed through Talma's North American subsidiary, Brickell Travel, in which it took a majority stake in May 2023. That deal was sandwiched by Talma's acquisition of the U.K.-based Norad Travel Group in March 2022 and Blue Cube Travel in October 2024.
Talma's acquisition of Solutions Travel strengthens its position in the U.S. and introduces the Spotnana platform into its tech stack—"embedding it where it genuinely fits the client profile"—alongside existing tools such as Concur and Cytric.
To cap off the year, in October Talma also acquired Sydney-based Bay Travel Group for US$10 million, in a deal set to bolster its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
While Norad has since been rebranded to Talma EMEA, Magen said the company is intent on "operating a house of brands"—but didn't rule out further consolidation.
"Brand consolidation for us is driven by data. We look at the scale of multi country programs, the extent of cross-border activity and the strength of the Talma brand in each region," she said. "When clients increasingly choose us for Talma's global value proposition rather than a legacy brand, full consolidation becomes the natural next step."
Further expansion is also on the cards, with Magen pointing to "meaningful opportunities in selected European markets where we already serve clients but do not yet operate our own servicing footprint." M&A will continue to play a role in the TMC's growth strategy, alongside plans to build a partner network in markets "where ownership is not the right path."
The company said its global revenues are set to exceed $1 billion by the end of 2025.
