While many companies have canceled or postponed physical meetings scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak and government travel and meetings restrictions, Facebook has suspended all physical meetings with 50 or more attendees through June 2021, according to a Facebook post on Thursday by company CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
"Guidance from health experts is that it won't be advisable to have large groups of people get together for a while," he wrote. "Given this, we're canceling any large physical events we had planned with 50 or more people through June 2021. Some of these we will hold as virtual events instead and we'll share more details on that soon."
He added that the company also is extending its policy of no business travel through at least June 2020.
Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Facebook was ranked 18th on BTN's 2019 Corporate Travel 100.
