Marcus Eklund
Former FCM global managing director Marcus Eklund will join BCD Travel next month as global chief commercial officer as part of "a series of planned leadership transitions" over the next several months, the travel management company announced.
Eklund, who has been with FCM for about a decade and previously was an executive at Amadeus for about the same duration, will take the role at BCD on Sept. 14. Current global chief commercial officer Mike Janssen, meanwhile, is staying on until his retirement at the end of 2026.
Dave Mitchell
BCD also announced that its president for the Americas, Craig Bailey, will retire on June 30, 2027. He will be succeeded by Dave Mitchell, currently BCD president of mid-markets and GetGoing. As with the chief commercial officer appointment, there will be a transition period in which Mitchell will start in the role on Jan. 1, 2027. BCD said both Janssen and Bailey "will remain actively engaged" during those transition periods to ensure continuity.
"Strong organizations actively prepare for change," BCD global CEO Stephan Baars said in a statement. "These transitions reflect years of thoughtful succession planning and our commitment to building for the future."
Tanya Green, currently BCD's SVP for Americas operations, will succeed as mid-markets president and also will begin that role on Jan. 1.
