Travel buyers might want to take health and wellness into greater consideration as they enter into the annual hotel RFP season, according to CWT. In February, the travel management company surveyed more than 2,700 people from the Americas, Europe and Asia/Pacific who had traveled four or more times for work in the previous 12 months. Of those, 42 percent work hard to stick to their health and wellness routines while on the road, compared with 38 percent who made that claim in 2017. Thirty-eight percent of business travelers eat healthier when on the road, 26 percent work out more and just 7 percent do not maintain their wellness regimes while traveling. "Maintaining healthy habits while traveling is nearing the top of the priority list for travelers around the world," said CWT chief traveler experience officer Niklas Andreen. "Being in tune with what matters to your employees is indispensable for retaining and attracting the best talent." Hotel exercise rooms and equipment are the most common way to practice wellness routines, cited by 49 percent of business travelers. Forty percent cited hotel swimming pools, and 27 percent in-room hotel equipment.
