Hotels.com has added a new "business travel experience" in its app and website designed to ease bookings for business travel, the platform announced.
Features of the business travel experience include the ability to set preferences for business trip bookings, including a maximum night rate, rates inclusive of breakfast and/or Wi-Fi, fully refundable stays and gym access. Users also can access business-focused reviews and set up a quick rebooking for preferred hotels. They can manage the business experience within the same Hotels.com account they use for business travel, according to Hotels.com.
Alongside its announcement, Hotels.com published data from its Booked for Business Report, based on a survey of 2,000 U.S. adults who have traveled for business within the past three years, conducted from July 4 through July 12. Among the findings were that business travelers are working with an average hotel budget of $236 per night, but for tech professionals specifically, it averaged as $264 per night.
In addition, the survey indicated that travelers spend an average of 10 nights per year on work trips, with tech workers and tradespeople having the most rigorous travel schedules. Free breakfast ranked as the most popular hotel perk in the survey, noted by 49 percent of respondents, followed by loyalty rewards (39 percent) and flexible check-in (37 percent).
