September 2026 Announcements
For the week ending September 18
Delta Air Lines on Sept. 18 announced three new routes as well as multiple frequency additions, mostly for its Los Angeles network. Read more here.
Air Canada on Nov. 30 will resume flights between Toronto Pearson and Tel Aviv, the carrier announced Sept. 15. Flights will operate year-round, four times weekly with Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft.
British Airways on May 29, 2027, will add flights between London Gatwick and Zanzibar with a stop in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, the carrier announced Sept. 17. The route will operate three times weekly through Oct. 31 with Boeing 777 aircraft. In addition, on March 28 the carrier will increase its London Heathrow-Buenos Aires service to daily with onward service to Santiago, Chile. The route is part of a 25 percent increase to British Airways' Latin America network for summer 2027, according to the carrier. Further, on March 28, London Heathrow-Rio de Janeiro service will have continuing service removed, meaning more dedicated service to the Brazilian city; Heathrow-San José, Costa Rica, service will operate year-round instead of seasonal; London Heathrow-Cape Town service will increase to 10 flights per week from daily; and London Heathrow-Las Vegas service will increase to 14 flights per week from 13, according to British Airways.
For the week ending September 11
Lufthansa Group carriers will "gradually resume" flight services to Dubai in late October, the company announced Sept. 9. Lufthansa on Oct. 25 will restart its route between Munich and Dubai, operating five times weekly with Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The Frankfurt-Dubai route will resume Oct. 26 and operate four times weekly until Nov. 9, when it will increase to five times weekly, with Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Swiss on Oct. 27 will resume daily service between Zurich and Dubai with Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Austrian Airlines on Dec. 12 will restart flights between Vienna and Dubai, operating five times weekly with Airbus A320neo aircraft.
La Compagnie on April 21, 2027, will launch nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Düsseldorf Airport, the all-business-class carrier announced Sept. 7. Flights will operate up to five times weekly for the summer season on Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. The new route is in response to business demand, with Düsseldorf's North Rhine-Westphalia region "one of the world's leading trade show destinations and a hub for international companies across fashion, telecommunications, life sciences, professional services and advanced manufacturing," according to the airline. La Compagnie noted that companies including Amazon, FedEx, Microsoft and UPS had locations in or near Düsseldorf. This nonstop service between the German city and the U.S. will be the first since Delta ended its Düsseldorf-Atlanta service in October 2023.
For the week ending September 4
Alaska Airlines on Dec. 19 will add service between San Diego and Loreto, Mexico, the carrier announced Sept. 3. The route will be the 50th nonstop from San Diego for the airline. The seasonal service will operate twice weekly with Embraer E175 aircraft.

Avianca has resumed service between Bogota and Caracas, and launched new nonstop service between Bogota and Maracaibo, Venezuela, the carrier announced Sept. 1. Each route operates daily with Airbus A320 aircraft.
