Delta Air Lines is adding two more new routes to and from
Los Angeles International Airport and expanding service on several existing LAX
routes, the carrier announced Friday.
Delta beginning Dec. 19 will launch flights between LAX and
Monterey, Calif., operating twice daily with Embraer E175 aircraft. On June 7,
the carrier will launch service between LAX and Philadelphia, with flights
operating daily with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Los Angeles routes on which service will expand include Raleigh-Durham
on April 12, 2027, increasing to two daily flights from one; Boston on May 6,
increasing to five daily flights from four; and San Diego on June 7, increasing
to five daily flights from four. On July 11, LAX frequency to four additional
cities will increase: Cincinnati to two daily flights from one, Houston to
three daily flights from two, San Antonio to three daily flights from two, and
Seattle to eight daily flights from seven.
In addition, Delta on Dec. 19 will launch service between
Salt Lake City and Monterey, operating daily with Embraer E175 aircraft.
For its Pacific routes, the carrier on Oct. 25 will resume
daily Los Angeles-Auckland service and on Dec. 22 increase its LAX-Melbourne
service to daily for the peak season.
Delta has been expanding its Los Angeles network as corporate
demand from there has increased, VP of Los Angeles and West sales Scott
Santoro told BTN earlier this summer.
