Upon the delivery of Airbus and Boeing aircraft, expected in 2024, American Airlines plans to unveil a refurbished long-haul premium-class offering, featuring additional Premium Economy seats and seats with privacy doors, the carrier announced Tuesday.
The Flagship Suite seats also are set to feature a chaise lounge seating option and additional storage space, according to American.
American's Boeing 787-9 deliveries each are set to feature 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats, while its Airbus A321XLR deliveries each will feature 20 Flagship Suite seats and 12 Premium Economy seats.
In addition, American by late 2024 will retrofit its 20 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to include 70 Flagship Suite seats and 44 Premium Economy seats, according to the carrier, which also will retrofit its 16 Airbus A321T aircraft “to align with the rest of its A321 fleet.”
"Premium seating on American’s long-haul fleet will grow more than 45 percent by 2026," according to the carrier.
