Alaska Airlines has appointed Toni Freeberg, a longtime veteran at the carrier who helped lead its integration with Virgin America, as managing director of sales.
Freeberg joined Alaska in 1988 and most recently has been its director of business transformation, overseeing the carrier's entry into the Oneworld alliance as well as the Alaska/Virgin America passenger service system integration. She previously held numerous roles at the carrier, working with national accounts, alliance sales and call center support.
As managing director of sales, Freeberg will lead Alaska's partnerships with corporate travel managers, travel management companies and small business program members.
"Toni's extensive airline experience and expertise managing complex business initiatives during both the Virgin America integration and Alaska's entry into Oneworld, make her incredibly well suited to lead our sales organization," Alaska Airlines chief commercial officer Andrew Harrison said in a statement. "Likewise, her decade[-plus] of corporate sales leadership will help us unlock the value of Oneworld and our West Coast International Alliance with American Airlines and deepen our partnerships with travel management companies at a transformational time for the airline."
Freeberg's appointment is effective immediately, according to Alaska. She succeeds Mark Bocchi, who has been with Alaska for 40 years and will retire in October.
