Aer Lingus plans to rebuild its network to a total of 71 routes, including 16 transatlantic routes, for its summer 2022 schedule, the carrier announced.
Earlier this month, Aer Lingus announced it would restart some U.S. routes next month with the end of the banon European travelers in the United States, with direct service from Dublin to Newark starting Nov. 14 and to Orlando on Nov. 27. In its summer schedule, Aer Lingus will fly to nine additional destinations from Dublin: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C. It also will fly to JFK and Orlando from Manchester and to Boston and JFK from Shannon, Ireland.
Aer Lingus' service to Europe will "ramp up" between now and the summer. As of Friday, the carrier has announced 44 routes to Europe for the summer but plans to add more in the coming weeks.
A recent customer survey indicated that 65 percent of adults in Ireland plan to travel internationally in 2022, including for business, according to Aer Lingus.
