August 2026 Announcements
For the week ending August 28
United Airlines on Sept. 8 will restart flights between Newark and Tel Aviv, the carrier confirmed. Flights will operate twice daily on Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. The Chicago-Tel Aviv route also will resume on Oct. 24 and operate four times weekly with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. In its summer 2027 announcement, United added that its San Francisco-Tel Aviv flights would return March 28, 2027, operating year-round, three times weekly on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The carrier did not have an update on when it would resume its Dubai service.
Delta Air Lines on Sept. 6 plans to resume nonstop daily flights between New York JFK and Tel Aviv, the carrier announced Aug. 26. Flights will operate on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft configured with four cabins: Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort and Main. The carrier also on Dec. 19 will resume Atlanta-Tel Aviv flights, according to a Delta spokesperson. The launch of flights between Tel Aviv and Boston remains delayed.
Porter Airlines in November will begin service at Ontario's London International Airport, the Canada-based carrier announced Aug. 26. Select routes for the winter season include London, Ont.-Fort Lauderdale beginning Nov. 18 and operating four times weekly, and London, Ont.-Orlando beginning Nov. 19 and operating three times weekly.
Korean Air on Dec. 23 will launch daily service between Seoul Incheon and Hiroshima, Japan, the carrier announced Aug. 24. Flights will operate with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
For the week ending August 21
Alaska Airlines next May will launch nonstop seasonal service between Seattle and each Athens and Paris, the carrier announced Aug. 20. The Seattle-Athens service begins May 12, 2027, and will operate three times weekly. Seattle-Paris service begins May 25 and will operate five times weekly. Each route will be flown with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The new routes add to Alaska's list of international destinations, which also includes Reykjavik, London, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo.
Korean Air on Dec. 18 will launch nonstop service between Seoul Incheon and Melbourne, the carrier announced Aug. 19. Flights will operate three times weekly through March 14, 2027, with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Turkish Airlines on Nov. 11 will add service between Istanbul and Chengdu, China, the carrier announced Aug. 17. Flights will operate three times weekly with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured with 300 seats, including 30 in business class. Once launched, Chengdu will become the fourth mainland China destination for Turkish Airlines.
Scandinavian Airlines System on Oct. 1 will launch year-round nonstop service between Copenhagen and Mumbai, the carrier announced Aug. 17. Flights will operate five times weekly with Airbus A330 aircraft. The route marks SAS' return to India after 17 years, according to the airline.
For the week ending August 14
Delta Air Lines on March 27, 2027, will launch nonstop service between Austin, Texas, and Paris Charles de Gaulle, the carrier announced Aug. 13. Customers will gain one-stop access to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa through the airline's joint venture with Air France-KLM, according to Delta. Flights will operate daily during the summer on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. In addition, on April 12, 2027, the carrier is launching daily nonstop service between Austin and San Diego. Delta also will launch on Oct. 6 daily service between Austin and San Jose, Calif., and on April 12, 2027, plans to add a second daily flight on the route. The latter two routes will operate with Airbus A319 aircraft, according to the carrier.
Etihad Airways on Dec. 17 will launch seasonal nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Gothenburg, Sweden, the carrier announced Aug. 12. Flights will operate four times weekly until March 21, 2027, with Airbus A321LR aircraft configured with two first-class suites, 14 business seats and 144 economy seats.
Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's second flag carrier, launched flights between Riyadh and Dhaka, Bangladesh, the carrier announced Aug. 9. Flights operate daily. On Sept. 2, it will launch service between Riyadh and Bangkok, the carrier announced Aug. 6. Flights will operate three times weekly. Flights between Riyadh and Mumbai also have launched, and the carrier has announced new flights between Riyadh and each Islamabad, Pakistan (Aug. 14), Lahore, Pakistan (Aug. 18) and Manila, the Philippines (Sept. 9). All routes will operate with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Delta Air Lines on Oct. 23 will launch service between Atlanta and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the carrier has announced. The airline first announced the new route in October 2025, but did not specify a start date. The nonstop service will operate on Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Flights will run daily between Oct. 23-30, then three times weekly. Customers will be able to select halal meals when booking or ahead of travel, according to Delta.
For the week ending August 7
Delta Air Lines in late March 2027 will launch daily nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport, the carrier announced. The carrier will continue its Seattle-Tokyo Haneda service. Flights will operate on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft with Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main cabins.
Condor has launched nonstop service between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv, the Germany-based carrier announced Aug. 3. Flights will operate daily year-round with "the Airbus A320 family of aircraft."
Air India on Oct. 25 will launch seasonal nonstop service between Mumbai and Toronto, the carrier announced Aug. 1. Flights will operate three times weekly through March 26, 2027, with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring upgraded cabin interiors with eight first-class suites with privacy sliding doors, 40 flat beds in business class and 280 seats in economy. In addition, Air India has deployed its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on Delhi-Toronto flights, bringing the carrier's new cabin product and onboard experience to Canada for the first time, according to the carrier.
