JetBlue will ease out of capacity restrictions for flights over the next few months, eliminating them entirely by Jan. 8, president and COO Joanna Geraghty said in a published note to crewmembers.
The carrier currently is limiting onboard capacity to 70 percent and no longer is guaranteeing empty middle or adjacent seats. On Dec. 2, it will raise that limit to 85 percent, and as of Jan 8, all seats on flights will be available for sale, though flights are typically less full following the holidays, she said.
JetBlue is allowing travelers who bought tickets on Nov. 13 or earlier for travel on Jan. 8 or later a full refund if requested by Nov. 27, Geraghty said.
