Hawaiian Airlines this month will offer passengers an at-home Covid-19 testing option, helping them to avoid Hawaii's 14-day quarantine requirement for arriving travelers, the carrier announced Thursday. The carrier last week announced it would offer drive-through Covid-19 testing as well.
The at-home testing beginning Oct. 15 will be delivered through a partnership with Vault Health, according to the carrier. Participating passengers will be mailed a $150 test, which is self-conducted with the assistance via video chat with a Vault technician, then shipped overnight to Vault, which will provide results within 24 hours. Passengers with negative tests within 72 hours of departure will be allowed into Hawaii without quarantining for 14 days, according to the carrier.
JetBlue this week announced a similar partnership with Vault Health for Covid-19 testing. American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines each also have announced plans to offer passengers Covid-19 testing.
