ATPCO has launched a new platform, dubbed Architect, to simplify and consolidate the fare filing process for airlines, the company announced Tuesday.
Architect brings together and standardizes fare data from multiple sources to help airlines shape fare decisions and strategy, ATPCO head of global accounts Chris Phillips said. It replaces a "range of processes" for fare management previously required for airlines to understand the competitive landscape, such as having to manually search for fares or buying fare data from other suppliers, he said.
"It was a manual process, like taping pieces of paper together," Phillips said.
The platform also has a streamlined workflow and user interface through which carriers can implement fare strategies. That also will make it easier for airlines to onboard new staff, according to ATPCO.
So far, two carriers are using Architect under contract: Icelandair and Latam Airlines, which Phillips said shows the platform's range from a "small LCC network to a large global network." Several other airlines are currently in testing with the platform, he said.
Icelandair chief commercial officer Birna Osk Einarsdóttir said in a statement that the platform's automation "allows our pricing team to focus on the strategy of pricing. We are unlocking new revenue opportunities we were unable to realize in our legacy processes."
The platform will be helpful to airlines as they need to quickly adapt fares with "networks changing dynamically because of Covid-19 issues," Phillips said.
