Amadeus is collaborating with AI company Anthropic to both bring its own tools into AI workflows as well as give developers easier access to its content and capabilities, the travel technology company announced.
For travel professionals, the collaboration includes work to make select Amadeus applications available through a plugin to the Claude Cowork desktop agent. That is part of Amadeus' strategy to let its travel intelligence be accessible through the tools people are already using rather than having to move between closed systems, Amadeus director of strategic partnerships Luc Viguié said in a blog post.
"The objective is to go beyond surfacing data, enabling users to access information, conduct research, draft content, analyze data and take action across Amadeus systems in plain language, within broader AI-powered workflows," Viguié said.
Amadeus' collaboration with Anthropic also includes making real-time travel content available through Claude Code, Anthropic's coding tool for developers, which lets developers build tools using natural language.
Amadeus earlier this year announced that it was shutting down its self-service APIs portal for developers while continuing its Amadeus Enterprise portal. In the blog post, Viguié said providing access in tools like Claude Code was a "natural evolution from the traditional developer portal," letting developers work with Amadeus content within their own development environment.
"The ambition is to make it easier for developers and their AI coding assistants to access the resources they need, reducing time spent navigating portals, reference guides and integration requirements," he said.
