Flight technology provider Etraveli Group has launched a Model Context Protocol layer to enable AI agents to work with its booking engine, the company announced.
With the MCP, AI agents built on Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible platforms can access real-time flight content from Etraveli, which the group said includes fare comparisons across more than 550 airlines in more than 75 markets. Passenger details, seats and luggage fees also can be handled within the connection, and bookings are made through Etraveli's Flightnetwork online travel agency brand, which handles changes, cancellations and refunds.
Etraveli Group chief corporate development officer Andreas Marquardt in a statement said the MCP layer is part of the group's goal to become "the No. 1 global flight infrastructure layer for AI and digital commerce." The group powers Booking.com's global fight booking services and is a flights fulfillment partner for Skyscanner.
Earlier this year, the group bought Wenrix, an AI platform that works with travel management companies and OTAs.
