Maritz Acquires McGettigan
Maritz Travel Co. late yesterday announced it had purchased corporate meetings management firm McGettigan Partners, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. The privately held companies did not disclose financial terms.
Philadelphia-based McGettigan, a leader in meetings consolidation practices and technology, will be led by COO Christine Duffy as former CEO Mimi McGettigan Kehan leaves the family business after 27 years. Her future was undisclosed at press time.
Though Maritz offers its own meetings management and consolidation services, McGettigan's penetration into that field is likely deeper, particularly in the meetings-intensive pharmaceutical industry. The companies will combine their meeting technology offerings, including Maritz's MeetingHQ and McGettigan's Enterprise Solutions.
Maritz Travel Co. president and CEO Jeffery Reinberg said the acquisition, initiated last spring, "is consistent with our strategic focus on making long-term investments in growth in the meeting, event and incentive travel industry."
