Delta Air Lines head of sales for Delta and Wheels Up Michael Bowman has taken on a new role as EVP of global corporate sales at Wheels Up, effective immediately, he told BTN Tuesday at the Global Business Travel Association convention in Chicago.
The position is new within the private aviation company, according to Bowman. Wheels Up did not immediately confirm to whom he reports.
Delta in August 2023 was part of an investor group that provided $500 million to Wheels Up for a 95 percent stake in the company, and the companies since have been aligning their sales teams. Bowman had been head of sales for Delta and Wheels Up since September 2023. His employment with Delta began in January 2008, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Meanwhile, Wheels Up's corporate program, Signature Membership, in the second quarter grew to more than 1,200 members, according to the company. The program, which launched in September 2025, represents more than 50 percent of the company's active member base, according to Wheels Up.
Revenue in the company's corporate channel in Q2 increased 8 percent year over year across its membership and charter offerings combined, according to Wheels Up.
Further, Wheels Up also said it now offers 29 Embraer Phenom 300 series and 11 Bombardier Challenger 300 series aircraft, with plans to increase the fleet to more than 50 by the end of this year.
Wheels Up Q2 Metrics
Wheels Up's second-quarter revenue was nearly $181 million, down from the $189.6 million reported a year prior. The company reported a net loss of $190.2 million compared with a net loss of $181.6 million in Q2 2025.
Second-quarter total gross bookings declined 8 percent to $241.8 million, "primarily reflecting lower U.S. private jet charter volume driven by transitory process and technology inefficiencies from our sales force transformation," according to Wheels Up.
Private jet gross bookings were down 8 percent to $190.7 million, due to "a combined $13 million increase in interest expense and aircraft lease costs, along with a $13 million non-cash impairment charge associated with the legacy fleet retirement," according to the carrier.
