With information on supplier hygiene and safety processes expected to be in high demand as travel begins to re-emerge from its Covid-19-induced hibernation, U.K.-based travel management company Reed & Mackay is adding airline and hotel safety data to its online booking tool.
The new feed—which also is available to corporate travelers booking via the TMC's agents—includes information on airline safety procedures for more than 100 carriers, powered by ATPCO Routehappy, as well as data on hotel cleanliness measures. Meanwhile, hotel health and safety information will be based on the Safe Stay standards developed by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, with properties that have adopted those protocols indicated as such in the booking tool.
In preparation for the newfound emphasis on hygiene in the post-Covid corporate travel ecosystem, several TMCs recently have integrated supplier cleanliness data into their proprietary booking tools, including Corporate Travel Management, Serko and TripActions. Like Reed & Mackay, those TMCs have sourced such content through ATPCO, which in April rolled out 10 new health and hygiene-related standards to its universal product attributes, covering cabin-cleaning procedures, health-screening measures, food and beverage hygiene measures and booking flexibility.
