The Lufthansa Group has renewed its technology agreement with Amadeus with expanded options to improve e-commerce and airport disruption management for the group's carriers, the company announced.
The new agreement consolidates Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines and Air Dolomiti—all of which are currently using Amadeus' Altéa Passenger Service System—to a single contract with Amadeus, enabling airlines to "pick and choose from a menu of solutions those that best fit their needs" and providing "more agility to all airlines in the group, allowing them to easily implement new capabilities when they wish," according to the group. Eurowings will continue to have a separate contact supplied by Amadeus' Navitaire subsidiary.
Lufthansa's plans to expand services via Amadeus include its Digital Experience Suite and Instant Search technology to improve online booking and management. The group's airlines also are consolidating payment services for their websites with Amadeus to provide a "one-stop and consistent payment experience" across all websites, according to the group.
