The Walt Disney Co.'s U.S.-booked air volume in 2024
increased 15 percent year over year,
reflecting robust recovery as production, publicity and business travel volumes
rebounded following the resolution of the 2023 Writers Guild of America and
SAG-AFTRA strikes. The company generated $91.4 billion in total revenue for its
2024 fiscal year,
which ended Sept. 30, 2024, and
had approximately
233,000 employees globally.
In
2024, Disney streamlined processes to support its production studios, publicity
operations, and growing business travel. The company automated several request
form intakes to standardize vendor account setup information and relaunched its
internal global travel
and expense
social media page—now branded “Business
Travel Tips with Global Travel”—to
share updates on new vendors, promotions
and FAQs with travelers.
The
company upgraded to Concur Travel’s new online
booking platform and engaged in
communications supporting the new Disney New York headquarters move to 7 Hudson
Square, which was completed in 2024.
In
2025, Disney plans to launch a global airline RFP and work with vendors to
access NDC airline fares.
The company also aims to roll out new “Disney
Global Travel & Expense”
branding, including an intranet site and stakeholder town halls, to boost
internal engagement and highlight the value of travel and expense services.
Disney
is exploring automation and other technology enhancements to improve internal
processes and streamline traveler booking and expense workflows. The company also
is simplifying
its travel policy to clarify key expense requirements and will benchmark
categories including air, hotel, meals
and car service against industry standards.
