2024 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $107 million
Consolidated U.S. TMC: Amex GBT
U.S.-booked
air travel volume for Big Four accounting and professional services firm KPMG
rose 11 percent year over year to $107 million in 2024, reflecting sustained
demand for in-person client work, audits
and consulting engagements. The firm continued to balance this travel growth
with its long-standing climate commitments, including a global pledge to
achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 and cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50
percent from a 2019 baseline.
The
firm maintained its focus on
environmentally conscious travel policies in 2024, with sustainability
integrated into pre-trip decision-making and traveler education. The firm
encourages the selection of
lower-emission options when feasible
and prioritizes travel avoidance strategies, especially when collaborative work
can be achieved virtually.
KPMG
continued to rely on centralized booking and virtual collaboration to manage
costs and limit travel-related emissions. No major changes were made to KPMG’s
travel policy in fiscal year 2024, though the firm maintained
its focus on cost control and demand management. KPMG operates
with a travel policy customized by country rather than maintaining
a single global travel policy. The company reported 85 percent of its 2024
U.S.-booked airline tickets were booked through preferred online tools, with 80
percent booked without agent assistance.
KPMG's global revenue for its 2024
fiscal year, which ended September 30, 2024, increased 5.1 percent year over
year to $38.4 billion. Total global headcount at KPMG was 275,288
in 2024, including more than 40,000 employees and partners in
the United States.
