Ground transportation service supplier BostonCoach on
Thursday introduced a set of tools and services to aid travel buyers in
communicating to travelers policies and the importance of complying with them.
The tools include templates for announcements regarding
preferred suppliers and policy updates, e-mail travel tips regarding car
service usage, employee surveys of trends and perceptions, and customized
landing website pages with policy reminders, booking advice and service
listings. Travel buyers can either use the templates in their own communication
programs or outsource the communication to BostonCoach, according to
BostonCoach president and CEO Larry Moulter.
BostonCoach surveyed more than 800 business travelers and
discovered that 61 percent said they never receive formal communication from
their travel departments regarding preferred vendor usage.
"Poor communication leads to poor compliance, elevated
risk and increased costs that can be as much as 23 percent," Moulter said
in a statement. "Travel managers consistently tell us they need help
getting the word out about travel policy, and the goal of our communication
program is to help travel managers and their organizations maximize the
benefits associated with preferred providers."
