Altour is rolling out a new conversational travel intelligence platform, Altour IQ, which it says lets traveler managers instantly discover and find solutions to performance challenges.
With Altour IQ, travel managers can ask questions in natural language and see what factors are driving performance, forecast future trends and analyze possible strategies and their impacts, according to Altour. For example, users could ask why a certain airline is underperforming, and within that same conversation, see whether they will meet their contract terms by the end of the year and ask what they can do take ensure they make that commitment, Altour senior director of global business intelligence Haley Rossow said when demonstrating the platform during last week's Business Travel Show America Innovation Faceoff.
"I've moved the conversation to what's happened, to why is it happening, to where is it headed, to how can we change the outcome," she said.
Altour said it developed the platform to give travel managers a quicker alternative to analyzing complex reports and fragmented data. The tool can synthesize large volumes of data in seconds, according to Rossow.
Altour currently is conducting a "phased commercial rollout" of Altour IQ, and it will be widely available by the first quarter of 2027, the travel management company said.
