Sabre Signs United To Two-Year Extension Of Content Pact
Sabre today announced the extension of its distribution pact with United Airlines by two years, moving the expiration date of their "full content" agreement from 2011 to 2013.
The deal extends an agreement signed in 2006 when the major U.S. airlines redrew their agreements with global distribution systems in light of a newly deregulated market. Though the terms of the majority of those lasted for five years, Delta Air Lines broke with its legacy competitors by opting for seven-year deals.
Sabre said the extension gives the GDS's subscribers access to "all United published fares and inventory," which includes "published fares that the airline sells through any third-party Web site and through its own Web site and reservation offices."
