Air Canada Names New Global Sales Head
Air Canada today said it appointed Claude Morin as vice president of global sales, effective next month, replacing Marc Rosenberg, who plans to retire from the carrier in the fall.
Based in Montreal, Morin will take global responsibility for sales and distribution on Sept. 1, reporting directly to executive vice president and chief commercial officer Ben Smith. Upon Morin's position change, Lise-Marie Turpin will head up the Air Canada cargo unit that he previously led.
Air Canada has been at the forefront of unique sales approaches, including the carrier's unbundled fare offerings and prepaid fare passes for corporate clients. Air Canada CEO Montie Brewer in a statement today said Rosenberg, a veteran of the company for more than 25 years, "has driven an overhaul of our sales and distribution systems, modernizing them to make them more efficient and effective."
