AA Interlines E-Tix W/ Northwest
American Airlines today announced an e-ticket interlining agreement with Northwest Airlines.
The agreement comes just one month after American cemented interline agreements with United and Continental airlines. Northwest also has an e-ticket agreement with United and Continental airlines.
Customers of both airlines immediately can book e-tickets for itineraries that include segments on both American and Northwest, and more easily can switch between the two carriers in the case of flight cancellations. Currently, interlined e-tickets only are available from both carriers' reservations centers, airport locations and city ticket offices.
American's e-ticket penetration has reached 65 percent of total tickets issued, while Northwest--which has been particularly aggressive in pushing its e-ticket usage--saw e-tickets account for 75 percent of its March domestic tickets.
