US Airways by January 2012 will install first-class cabins
on 110 US Airways Express aircraft, the carrier announced.
The upgrades will be limited to Embraer 170, Embraer 175,
Bombardier CRJ700 and Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, impacting 640 daily flights
to 85 cities, according to senior vice president of marketing and planning
Andrew Nocella.
Aircraft conversions will begin in the fall.
In recent years, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines also have reconfigured some regional jets to provide first- or
business-class service.
