BCD Travel is expanding rail content in its Tripsource travel platform, including integration of content from Deutsche Bahn and split ticketing capabilities for U.K. rail content, the travel management company announced.
BCD said the direct Deutsche Bahn gives it deeper content in Germany, "one of Europe's most important rail markets." The TMC already has coverage with U.K. Rail, France's SNCF and Switzerland's SBB, and next month Tripsource will launch content from Belgium's SNCB and the Netherland's NS railway companies.
In addition, BCD announced it has made split ticketing available in Tripsource for U.K. rail, meaning it can search for fare combinations with multiple segments in a single train journey rather than a single fare for the full journey when doing so is cost efficient. BCD said about 35 percent of its rail bookings are split tickets, with the average savings at €21.50 per trip.
