Lyft riders who also are members of United Airlines' MileagePlus loyalty program now can earn miles on qualified rides, the companies announced Wednesday.
Lyft customers with linked United MileagePlus accounts will be able to earn four miles for every dollar spent on pre-scheduled rides to and from the airport; three miles for every dollar on Extra Comfort, Lyft Black and Black SUV rides as well as non-scheduled rides to and from the airport; and one mile for every dollar on Standard, Priority Pickup and XL rides, according to the companies.
Lyft Business customers additionally will earn two miles instead of one for Standard, Priority Pickup and XL rides, according to Lyft.
Mileage Plus members "will gain access to additional ways to use their miles with Lyft, with new redemption options and travel features rolling out beginning in 2026," according to the companies. Lyft users that link their MileagePlus accounts have access to MileagePlus benefits including miles that never expire, no blackout dates, ticket purchasing with miles or a combination of miles and cash, and no change fees on flight award tickets.
Lyft initially announced its partnership with United in August during a second-quarter earnings call.
