Lyft has agreed to acquire ground transportation booking platform Gett's U.K. business, with closing expected "in the coming weeks" subject to customary conditions, Lyft announced Thursday.
Financial details of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
The deal comes about a year after Lyft acquired Freenow, a European taxi-hailing and mobility app. Once the acquisition is complete, the Gett U.K. team will transfer to Freenow by Lyft, according to the ride-hailing company.
The Gett app still will function as it does now in the U.K., and in some places, users will see "Gett by Lyft" branding, according to Lyft. In the future, riders will be able to use one app across all of Lyft's regions worldwide, the company said.
The Gett brand will continue to operate "as is" in Israel, according to Lyft.
Further details of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition will not impact Q1 2026 results and "will have an immaterial impact to Q2 2026" results, according to Lyft.
Gett in 2019 announced a partnership with Lyft for the U.S. and Canada. That partnership is no longer active, according to Lyft. In addition, parking-payment platform Pango in May 2024 agreed to acquire Gett for $175 million. Pango and Gett in May 2025 jointly withdrew their application from the Israel Competition Authority, terminating the transaction.
