Uber's Uber for Business division is offering federal
government employees free Uber One memberships, the U.S. General Services
Administration announced this week.
Federal employees with Uber One now will earn credits on
eligible rides during official travel. The Uber One membership is good for all
orders within the U.S., including personal rides, through Nov. 30, 2027,
according to GSA.
GSA in July 2025 expanded its partnership with Uber for
Business to include government contractors, international availability,
business profiles, high-capacity vehicles and mission-support use cases, such
as natural disaster relief efforts.
Since then, agencies have reported more than 50 percent
savings compared with other ground transportation options and more than 80
percent savings by replacing shuttle contracts with on-demand transportation,
according to GSA, which added that employees using the rideshare program saved
the government nearly $1 million in 2025.
