July 2026 Announcements
For the week ending July 24
WestJet this winter will add five new seasonal routes to Latin American destinations, the carrier announced July 20. Service will begin Nov. 28 between Winnipeg and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Dec. 14 between Regina, Saskatchewan, and San José del Cabo and between Winnipeg and Belize City, Dec. 17 between Calgary and Mérida, Mexico, and Dec. 20 between Ottawa and Liberia, Costa Rica.
Avianca has launched its new daily flights between Fort Lauderdale and each Barranquilla and Cali, Colombia, the carrier announced July 20. The routes will operate year-round. In addition, on June 1, Avianca introduced a second daily flight between Fort Lauderdale and Bogotá.
For the week ending July 17
Delta Air Lines on March 28, 2027, will launch nonstop service between Los Angeles and Manila, the Philippines, the carrier announced July 17. The addition will further expand its LAX network. The route will operate three times weekly to start, then increase to daily on June 7. Flights will operate with Airbus A350-900 aircraft with four seat products: Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort and Main.
Alaska Airlines on Dec. 17 will add seasonal daily flights between Honolulu and Boise, Idaho, and on Dec. 19 once-weekly flights between Honolulu and Spokane, Wash., the carrier announced July 15. The routes will operate with Boeing 737 aircraft. In addition, Hawaiian Airlines will increase its Honolulu-Las Vegas route to four times dailyfrom three times daily for peak winter and spring periods. Further, Hawaiian's seasonal Honolulu-Auckland, N.Z., service will not resume in November. The company cited the challenges of high fuel costs, soft demand recovery in international Pacific markets, unfavorable exchange rates and evolving global travel trends as factors.
Cathay Pacific is adding new codeshare flights in Latin America via its partnership with Iberia, the Asian carrier announced July 15. The new codeshare routes will begin Oct. 25 and include flights between Madrid and each Fortaleza and Recife in Brazil, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. To support these additions, Cathay Pacific will add three additional flights per week on its nonstop Hong Kong-Madrid route, bringing it to daily service.
For the week ending July 10
Flydubai on July 20 will resume flights between Dubai and Aleppo, Syria, the carrier announced June 10. It has been nearly 14 years since the airline last operated that route, according to Flydubai. Flights will operate daily.
Gol has launched new direct service between Rio de Janeiro and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, the carrier announced July 10. Flights operate three times weekly on Airbus A330 aircraft.
JetBlue has added eight new nonstop routes to and from Fort Lauderdale, the carrier announced July 9. The new destinations launched this week include Baltimore, Charlotte, Cleveland, Nashville, Detroit, Houston, Chicago and Ponce, P.R. The carrier also announced plans to launch five more destinations to and from Fort Lauderdale "in the coming months" that include Indianapolis, Columbus, Ohio, Cali and Barranquilla in Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela. JetBlue previously announced new Fort Lauderdale-San Diego service set to begin Nov. 19.
For the week ending July 3
Turkish Airlines has begun to restore its Middle East network, the carrier announced July 2. Flights between Istanbul and Dammam will resume July 10, Kuwait on July 11 and Bahrain on July 6. Flights to Dubai resumed Jun 9 and to Abu Dhabi on July 1, according to the carrier.
Lufthansa resumed two daily flights between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv on July 1, according to the carrier's website. Lufthansa Group brand ITA Airways also resumed flights between Rome and Tel Aviv on July 1.
Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new second national carrier, on July 30 will launch service between Riyadh and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the carrier announced July 1. Flights will operate three times weekly.
TAP Air Portugal has launched nonstop service between Lisbon and Athens, Greece, the carrier announced July 1. The route operates five times weekly with Airbus A320neo aircraft.
American Airlines on March 27, 2027, will launch daily, year-round nonstop service between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport, the carrier announced July 1. Flights will operate with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Through American's Pacific Joint Business Agreement with Japan Airlines, customers also will have access to one-stop connecting service to additional destinations in Asia. In addition, American in November will launch Chicago-Charlottesville, Va., service, and in December flights between Chicago and Ontario, Calif.
Flydubai has launched daily service between Dubai and Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport, the carrier announced July 1. The carrier also in June launched flights between Dubai and Benghazi, Libya, operating three times weekly.
United Airlines on Dec. 17 plans to operate new flights between Cartagena, Colombia, and each Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport, the carrier announced June 29. Each route will operate year-round four times weekly with Boeing 737 aircraft.
Condor Airlines has launched service between Frankfurt, Germany, and Cairo, Egypt, the carrier announced June 29. Flights operate daily with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Philippine Airlines on Oct. 2 will resume nonstop Manila-Dubai flights, the carrier announced June 29. The route initially will operate four times weekly, with plans to increase to daily service "as operational considerations allow."
AirBaltic this winter will extend its Tallinn-Vienna service to year-round from summer seasonal, the carrier announced June 29. Flights for the summer operate three times weekly. Winter flights will operate two times weekly, according to AirBaltic.
EVA Air has launched its nonstop service between Taipei and Washington, D.C., the carrier announced June 26. The addition is the 10th North American gateway for EVA. Flights will operate four times weekly with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
