Glen Hauenstein
Longtime Delta Air Lines president Glen Hauenstein will retire effective Feb. 28, 2026, the carrier announced Wednesday.
Hauenstein joined Delta in August 2005 and has been president since May 2016. He will stay on at the airline as a strategic advisor through the end of next year.
In a memo to Delta employees, CEO Ed Bastian credited Hauenstein with helping the carrier grow to 70 international destinations, building the airline's portfolio of joint ventures and developing Delta's premium strategy.
"Most importantly, Glen has always recognized that the dedication and commitment of Delta's 100,000 people worldwide are what sets us apart," Bastian said in the memo. "His impact on Delta, and the industry overall, cannot be overstated."
Prior to joining Delta, Hauenstein was vice general director for Alitalia, serving the dual role of chief commercial officer and chief operating officer, and before that was the SVP of network for Continental Airlines, which he joined in 1987.
