Delta Air Lines' updated mobile app now allows Platinum and Diamond Medallion members with eligible upgrade certificates to see when an upgrade is available and redeem that certificate during checkout from the app, the carrier announced Wednesday.
Additional services will be rolled out through this summer, according to Delta. On June 1, Choice Benefit selection will become available exclusively through the Fly Delta app. Customers also now can link an Uber account to their SkyMiles account.
"In the coming weeks," Delta will add real-time flight updates on lock screens and dynamic islands for users of 14 Pro or later iPhones, and "proactive support" for the day of travel to Fly Delta for iOS, including notifications for pre-boarding, boarding, boarding door closing times, in-flight progress and arrival.
Features "coming soon" include alerts from the Fly Delta app for any missing documentation or tasks needed to be complete before international flights. In June, domestic customers on nonstop flights or on the last leg of their journeys will be able to book themselves as standby passengers on earlier flights departing within 24 hours before the originally confirmed flight.
