American Airlines in 2025 will add nine new destinations from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the carrier announced Thursday. Additionally, American in June will expand its capacity to and from the airport with larger aircraft and 40 percent more premium seats than last summer.
Some but not all of the new summer destinations are mostly a leisure play. New service beginning June 5 include flights between Chicago and each Bismarck, N.D., Boise, Idaho, and Spokane, Wash. Each will operate with Embraer 175 aircraft.
Flights are set to launch March 30 between Chicago and Madrid, Spain, and on May 6 to Naples, Italy. Those routes will operate with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
For the winter season, beginning Oct. 26 American plans to add flights between Chicago and Honolulu using Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
