ATPCO has added a new virtual tour capability for the airline booking process, with AmTrav signed on as the first sales channel to integrate the content, the company announced.
The virtual tours come via a partnership with airline 3D mapping technology provider Renacen, which is making the technology available in ATPCO's Routehappy Visuals offering. It is available to any airline subscriber that is a mutual subscriber to Renacen, and airlines with their own 360 imaging partners can also use the Routehappy capability. The content can be integrated to any channel subscribed to Routehappy.
AmTrav already has integrated the capability to include virtual tours for Gulf Air, Iberia, Iberia Express, Hawaiian Airlines' Boeing 787s, Delta Air Lines' Airbus A330-900neo and A321 flights and most United Flights in its booking tool, according to ATPCO. It will be adding more airlines and aircraft types soon.
"Savvy travelers are obsessed with where they sit on a plane," AmTrav CEO Jeff Klee said in a statement. "At AmTrav, we want to make sure we equip those travelers with enough information to understand which option will be the most comfortable so they can make the most well-informed decisions."
ATPCO said it is working with more sales channels and airlines to expand the virtual tour capability.
