Alaska Airlines now offers a flat $8 Wi-Fi fee per flight on
its mainline aircraft that have satellite-enabled connectivity onboard, which
includes about 80 percent of its fleet, the carrier announced Thursday. The
service offers connection speeds up to 20 times faster than the previous Wi-Fi
system, according to the company. It also is available on long- and short-haul
flights, allowing passengers to stream content on their personal devices, and
is available from the moment passengers board.
