AgentWare, JetBlue Agree On Access
Atlanta-based AgentWare today announced it gained permission from JetBlue to deliver the carrier's Web fares to users of its Travel Console agent system. AgentWare aggregates Web content for such business travel clients as Galileo, Sabre's GetThere, Stevens, Tzell and Total Travel Management.
"While our model is consumer direct, we do realize that corporations, particularly larger ones, need certain things that our model does not address right now," said Noreen Courtney-Wilds, JetBlue manager of national corporate sales. "We are trying to improve the ability to book JetBlue, track it and get reporting. We have relationships with Outtask, and now AgentWare, and have spoken with FareChase. We are allowing these new technologies to access our Web site and pull that into reporting."
Some carriers recently have attempted to prevent such aggregators from accessing their Web-based content.
"Other airlines are cutting off screen scrapers, but it is hard to tell where that will go," Courtney-Wilds added. "It appears there will be a co-existence between the Web aggregators and GDSs." She said JetBlue also is seeking to develop a corporate booking site along the lines of Southwest Airlines' Swabiz.
