Meetings management company Groupize has partnered with
meetings and event provider Convene to offer venues across the United States
and London, the company announced. It also has begun to add alternative spaces
to its platform. In addition to about 150,000 hotels globally, Groupize now has
about 2,500 alternative venues on its platform and expects to provide around
10,000 in the coming months.
"Due to the pandemic, we are seeing a growing demand
from our enterprise customers who are looking to reduce their real estate
footprint," said Groupize CEO Alisa de Gaspe Beaubien. "Internal
meeting space is at a premium, and companies need options for employees to meet
locally. Our partnership with Convene will open up a wide range of alternative
world-class venues for planners."
Groupize
told BTN in November of its plans to add alternative venues, but the
project had to be put on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Groupize
founder and chief customer officer Charles de Gaspe Beaubien. Earlier
this month, Groupize launched a risk assessment calculator and mitigation
enhancements to its platform.
