Travel and Transport is launching a new line of services to help corporate travel clients navigate the rapidly changing rules and regulations related to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The tools are designed to assist with all three phases of a trip—planning, preparation and in-trip, the global travel management company said.
For the planning phase, Travel and Transport's new Journey Prep tool enables travelers to search a country or state within the TMC's online travel management portal and mobile app to obtain up-to-date information around specific restrictions and guidance for the given market, such as quarantine and masking rules and which types of services are open.
Travel and Transport also has "significantly revamped" the journey summary email travelers receive during preparation for a booked trip. The emails now will include such information as well-being advice and country risk ratings, the TMC noted. Additionally, travelers will receive access to a new Journey Brief webpage 48 hours ahead of each trip, with information including a packing list and insights into what to expect in airports, planes, hotels and car rental counters. The webpage also features information on airline hygiene practices, including boarding protocols and which airport lounges are open. A dashboard of Covid-19 statistics provided by Johns Hopkins University is embedded into the page as well.
Finally, to help clients deal with in-trip disruptions, such as boarding denials, Travel and Transport now can hold risk or insurance company details in its Leap Advisor customer relationship management platform, so travel advisors can assist travelers and provide them with proper contact information.
Earlier this month, Travel and Transport added new safety information for LGBTQ travelers as a map overlay option within its Swift Data reporting product. The information also is included in the journey summary emails sent to travelers in advance of their trip.
