Wyndham Hotels & Resorts on Thursday announced the release of its new mobile app, which offers new contactless features, at least for some of the company's hotels.
Travelers on the road can use the app's "Lightning Book" feature to search for and book the nearest Wyndham hotel, and they can use Wyndham Rewards points to book.
The new app also allows for mobile check-in and check-out. This feature currently is available at about 300 hotels in the United States, with plans to expand to nearly 6,000 hotels worldwide before the end of the year.
Wyndham plans to introduce later this year at select resorts the use of a traveler's mobile phone as their room key. Expansion to other hotels and resorts is anticipated over the next 12 months.
Wyndham updated the app's overall user experience, which also allows for surfacing special offers, Wyndham Rewards account management and preferred payment methods.
The new app is available for both iOS and Android devices.
