U.S. hotels in May recorded year-over-year increases in average daily rate, occupancy and revenue per available room, according to STR hospitality data from CoStar.
May marks the fourth consecutive quarter of gains in key performance metrics at U.S. hotels. May RevPAR rose 4 percent year over year to $110.76, driven by a 3.4 percent increase in ADR to $168.51 and a 0.6 percent bump in occupancy to 65.7 percent.
RevPAR in 20 of STR's top 25 markets increased year over year. Las Vegas posted the greatest year-over-year gains in RevPAR (17.9 percent to $188.69) and ADR (13.5 percent to $238.40), while Philadelphia recorded the largest increase in occupancy (4.3 percent to 74.4 percent).
