Location and History
Set on six landscaped, hilltop hectares on the eastern outskirts of the city, four kilometers northeast of Kyoto Station, this hotel is opposite Keage Station, near some of Japan's finest shrines, temples and museums.
The hotel's beginnings trace back to 1890, when a wealthy merchant, Nihei Nishimura, built a teahouse and the Yoshimizuen garden on the present site, followed by the Kyoto Hoyo-kan spa.
