Avianca on May 10 will launch daily direct service between Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Managua, Nicaragua, the carrier announced Tuesday. Flights will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 180 seats.
The airline has been in expansion mode. Earlier this month, Avianca announced new service between Dallas and Bogotá, Colombia, to commence May 26, and between Chicago and San Salvador, El Salvador, service beginning June 3.
In January, the carrier announced three new U.S. routes to begin March 30: Tampa-Bogotá, Fort Lauderdale-Medellín, Colombia, and Miami-San José, Costa Rica. Those routes also will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 180 seats.
