Travel technology platform Duffel has added car rental bookings to its API, giving its users the ability to offer car rental alongside its flight and lodging options.
Duffel, which provides an API to give startups and other "non-traditional brands" the ability to add travel booking to their offerings, said its new Duffel Cars offering enables brands to embed car rental bookings from more than 40 providers, including Avis, Sixt, Enterprise, Hertz and Europcar. That capability comes though the same API that currently connects to more than 500 airlines and a growing collection of hotels.
Among Duffel's customers is business software platform Rippling, which last year tapped Duffel to add a corporate travel booking tool to its Spend Management suite. Other clients include large software companies, AI platforms and credit card firms, according to Duffel.
The company said it is on track to have a total of $900 million in total transaction value this year, with 85 percent of its volume coming from the United States.
"Our momentum is a testament to what can be achieved when we focus on bringing the benefits of travel to the wider market," Duffel co-founder and CEO Steve Domin said in a statement. "Together, this means our partners can launch, grow and support travel as part of their product, while we handle the complexity behind the scenes."
