U.S.-booked air travel volume in 2024 for Tesla was $38.2 million, which year-on-year was a $10.4 million decline. However, in 2025 the electric vehicle company projects air spend will spring back up to $48.3 million.
While Tesla’s 2024 domestic air was serviced by BCD, travel booked outside the U.S. was 80 percent with BCD and 10 percent with Alitrip, Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba’s travel service.
Tesla had no changes to its travel and expense policy that year and does not anticipate any major updates in 2025.
Tesla secured new air contracts for 2024 through a global RFP. The company also carried on its pursuit of more intuitive managed travel technology.
Tesla’s total employee count at the end of 2024 was about 125,600, down around 10 percent from the prior year. In that same timeframe, total revenue increased by 1 percent to $97.7 billion.
